January 2003 - Nashua, NH -- In response to customer requests for higher temperature testing, Centorr Vacuum Industries announced
it has completed construction of a 2800°C furnace for their Applied Technology Center.
Centorr performed modifications to their existing graphite-lined System VII laboratory/production
furnace to upgrade its performance to 2800°C in vacuum, partial pressures of inert gas,
and positive pressure inert gas. The unit is also capable of ramp rates up to 100°C/minute, offering
the ability to simulate continuous furnace cycles.
System VII vacuum furnaces broaden the capabilities for vacuum and inert atmosphere metallurgical
and ceramic processes with a basic chamber concept that avoids equipment duplication and
minimizes cost.
Centorr Vacuum Industries Applied Technology Center is a fully staffed laboratory, equipped with
state-of-the-art batch and continuous furnace equipment designed for the high temperature
processing of advanced ceramics, carbons, and metals in a variety of environments including low
or high vacuum, inert gas, or Hydrogen. Our experienced staff can offer you a unique "try
before you buy" opportunity to evaluate your advanced materials processing method and better
define your equipment needs, or reduce process cycle times.
Centorr Vacuum Industries has introduced many furnace solutions over the years for applications
in sintering, heat treating, arc melting, Chemical Vapor Deposition and Infiltration, Crystal Growth,
Fiber Optic Drawing furnaces, and Continuous belt and pusher furnacing.
Centorr/Vacuum Industries is a high temperature vacuum / controlled atmosphere furnace
manufacturer with an installed base of over 6000 units worldwide. Their furnace offering ranges
from large commercial and production units with hot zones over 3m x 3m, to smaller Lab
and Research & Development furnaces for use at temperatures over 3000°C. They are located
in Nashua, NH with a fully staffed Aftermarket Field Service group. For more information please
